Farewell to idol BEATS Radio

Many of you have been contacting me due to the station not playing the correct music and seeming to be gone. And that's because it now is. The music currently playing is streamed from another station- appears to possibly be vocaloid- that radionomy must've thought the most similar option, i'm assuming.

I've avoided making the post because it's sad and making it seems so final, but it's something that needs to be done.

Radionomy deleted idol BEATS Radio in it's latest deletion of stations that didn't have enough average listening hours. I feel frustrated and confused, as idol BEATS has been well over the marker for a long time, and I can't imagine the listening hours have suddenly dropped so significantly in the past month. Radionomy has been messing up a LOT for the station since October, and whether this was a mistake with the stats or not, the station is wiped so there is no getting it back.

I would like to believe I will some day bring idol BEATS Radio back as I LOVED hosting it, but it's going to take a lot of work and time that I just do not have right now. For starters, I'd need to find a new website to host it. I don't like using Radionomy, as I said they were causing many issues for station owners since they introduced a new radio manager in October. There have been issues with songs repeating, advertisements lasting massive periods of time that were not scheduled, accidentally picking up other stations, dead silence, and more. On top of that, they have awful support for station owners, so it's nearly impossible to do anything about it.
Once I found a website that could host idol BEATS Radio for free (or people willing to donate to keep it running) and one that can fit as much idol music as I have, it's also a matter of setting everything up and uploading literally thousands upon thousands of songs. It's something I just currently don't have time for, but hopefully will again eventually.

This is very sad for me, as I know it is for a lot of you listeners, but for now there is no choice but to have idol BEATS Radio off the air. Thank you for always supporting it as you have.

If you would be willing to donate (even a small amount) to have idol BEATS re-opened on a more professionally-run website where I pay to have it hosted, let me know in the comments or at idolbeatsradio@gmail.com If there is enough people willing to donate and help get it re-opened elsewhere, I will look into options and get on it once I have more free time to do so.

  1. Oh noooo, this is so sad! Just last night I was trying to listen and couldn't find the station; I thought Radionomy was just having another terrible glitch. :(

I would love to see idol BEATS come back someday. I don't know how much time you do have, but maybe you could just do a limited re-boot of the station, like just the singles or something for a while until you have time to upload the rest of the songs. Or maybe your staff could help?

But I understand if you simply can't make it happen. It must be so frustrating.... I'm very sorry that this happened. I hope you will continue to spread the love of idol music around the web despite everything. Thanks for making a fun and enjoyable station to listen to!

  2. As I read that announcement above I heard music. Now the info is still the same for every song that plays: "Manaminorisa Do Re Mi So Rock". I'm assuming this is some kind of glitch. I'm sorry about what happened to your station. I hope you get things worked out.

  3. Oh, no... :( I'm sad to hear this.

I just spent the evening searching for new single releases for Single Spotlights and I didn't realise this had happened. I feel bad as I hadn't had the time myself to listen much this past month. I did think it was weird I could only hear Hatsune Miku, but I thought it was a temporary thing and would be fixed. I should have tried harder to spread the word. I was just about to advertise it on my Facebook again but I thought I'd come here first to check if I can hear the right station on the site itself (I'd been listening mostly through iTunes).

Thank you for your hard work so far. It's thanks to idol BEATS Radio I became a fan of RYUTist. It was fun to became a staff member as well. I discovered tons of new idol groups I'd never heard of while searching for new single releases.

Please let me know if I can do anything to help get idol BEATS Radio back. Good luck!
